The Lennox was born from my love of camping, vanlife and the freedom that comes with life on the road. I was born in Tasmania, where I think my love of the outdoors and adventure first began, and I now call Noosa home. There’s nothing I love more than packing up the van, heading off on an adventure, finding somewhere beautiful and calling it home for a few days.

For me, it’s about the simple things, slowing down, waking up somewhere new, being surrounded by nature and having the freedom to go wherever the road takes you.

But there was always one thing that frustrated me, the lack of privacy when I simply wanted to chill in the van or sleep with the tailgate open and the fresh air flowing through.

I used to tie sheets to the back of my van to create a little private space, but they were constantly falling down, blowing around in the wind and generally driving me crazy.

I searched everywhere for something simple that would attach to the tailgate and give me the privacy, shelter and extra space I wanted without poles, bulky equipment or a complicated setup.

I couldn’t find it.

Then, on a camping trip to Lennox Head, the idea came to me: why not create it myself?

And that’s where The Lennox was born.

​

What started as an idea two years ago, with me sitting in my lounge room sewing together the very first prototype, has slowly evolved into a product I’m incredibly proud of today.

There have been countless versions, changes, road tests and refinements along the way. I wanted to get it right and create something I would genuinely use - a lightweight, magnetic tailgate canopy that was easy to put up, easy to pack away and compact enough to always keep in the van.

Seeing The Lennox go from something I literally stitched together at home to a finished product ready for other people’s adventures is a pretty special feeling.

The Lennox gives you your own private space when you want it — whether you’re sleeping, changing, showering or simply wanting a little extra room. Or, tie back the opening, take in the view and watch the world go by.

It’s simple. It’s practical. And it was designed to make life on the road that little bit easier.

​

The Lennox was created from a real need, inspired by a real adventure, and designed for people like me who love the freedom of life on the road.
